Well the one concrete result of my last diatribe was an invite some someone's Flikker group. Success!

Took in the movie Jackie Brown last weekend, along with What's Eating Gilbert Grape & The Big Chill. That's in order of degradation, not the order viewed. JB was breathtaking; I'd heard of it but never seen it. Normally I can miss Quentin Tarantino but I loved this film. Anything w/that boy from 21 Jump Street is watchable. And, the Big Chil was a big melodrama with a lot of overplayed oldies music. Or so I say...

Now they're advertising Back to School sales in the paper. It's July.

Mark got stopped in his 1983 Tercel (Washington License) by a cop in Victoria. The offense? Was it speeding? Fail to yeild? More like driving while black. Well, the ticket says Defective Vehicle--even though everything on the car works. The cop tested the parking brake by bumping the Toyota with his squad car. Lights, seat belts, everything works fine. The fine is $109. Basically he was stopped for driving a beater. Canadian bullshit.

Camping on the weekend was great--lots of fun and friendly Canadian men and boys frolicking in the woods. Boys 19 and over for the record. Like you had to know. Lots of strokes for the van, and also the dog Sadie. Main topic of conversation around the campfire: the full moon overhead and who has better prices, Canadian Tire, Wallmart, or some other dump I'd never heard of. I couldn't take it.

Oh but aside from some drivel conversation it was great. Really nice bunch of people. And check out the backdrop:

Here's the van:

Tomorrow, Seattle.
