Chapter One - Meet the Family

Once upon a time there lived a family with two adults and five children. Their last name was Wow. The Wow family included: Mrs. Wow, Mr. Wow, Michelle, Jennifer, Anna, Lilly, Jack and their fine dog, Mr. Cuddles. Now I know this name is kind of weird but it fit Mr. Wow perfectly. Last week he built a jet pack by hand and flew away where Mrs. Wow could not find him. You see that day was cleaning day and Mrs. Wow was going to make him clean the garage. Now, Mrs. Wow was not the least bit crazy like her husband, but she was REALLY clean. If she saw one piece of clothing on the floor, she would freak. She would get her goggles and her gloves and immediately pick up and fold, fold, fold those clothes. The children were always plotting their next big trick. The Wows all lived together in a very active house.

    Chapter Two - Thanksgiving Dinner

Today was Thanksgiving. Mrs. Wow was doing her own beeswax, She was cooking the turkey for the guests who would be arriving soon. When all of a sudden she heard a knock at the door. "Now I wonder who that might be," she said? When she opened the door, there stood Mr. Carlson, the mailman. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Wow!" He replied. "Good afternoon to you to, Mr. Carlson. I see you have some mail for me," said Mrs. Wow. "Yes, a lot of Thanksgiving cards today, said Mr. Carlson. "Yes I see. Well, thank you. Good bye now," and Mrs. Wow closed the door. Who was that? Mrs. Wow jumped. Apparently it was just her daughter, Anna. Anna you scared me. It was the mailman, Mr. Carlson, if you must know Mrs. Nosey. "I don't like Mr. Carlson. He is weird", said Anna. "Now Anna Mary Wow, Mr. Carlson has a few problems. So do not go teasing him" and Mrs. Wow walked away leaving her daughter behind.

Mrs. Wow went back to her turkey. Suddenly, she heard a scream. Mrs. Wow ran to Michelle's room. Michelle's arm was up in the air with yellowish goop on it. Mrs. Wow knew what this meant. It meant that Jack, Mrs. Wow's Son, had licked Michelle for the fifteenth millionth time. "Jackson William Wow!" That was the second time that she had yelled at her children that day. "Go to your room mister." "Fine." Said Jack and walked away. Then Mrs. Wow went back to her turkey, and guess what? The doorbell rang again. Now Mrs. Wow was ftirious. She walked over to the door, opened it and said "WHAT!" Big mistake, because it was her Mom and Dad. "Hi," she said with an awkward smile. "Hey kids. Grandma and Grandpa are here." All the kids ran up to their grandparents. Mrs. Wow said "Mom and Dad why don't you go sit down in the Living Room, I need to talk to the kids real quick, alright." "Ok," said Grandma and her and Grandpa went into the Living Room. "Now, kids be on your best behavior, alright. Use your manners." "Ok," said the kids and they ran to Michelle's room. They all sat in a circle on the floor. "Ok, let's go through the list," said Anna. "Frog - check, meatloaf - check, Mr. Cuddles - check." "Ok, that's all; Do you all know the plan?" said Jennifer. "Yes," they all said. That's when the doorbell rang. Ding Dong. Mrs. Wow tried to calm herself down and open the door slowly. "Hey, come on in" It was her sister Margaret and her two children Lucy and Bobby. Bobby was five like Lilly and Jack was Michelle's age fifteen. Then it was dinner and the plan was about to kick in.

    Chapter Three - The Frog

At dinner the grown ups talked about the latest insurance, and the kids talked about the latest toys and future movies. All of a sudden the door flung open. It was Mr. Wow, who of course was late. "I am sorry I'm late."

"Jonathon, how can you be so late on Thanksgiving?"

"Sorry, Honey the line at the grocery store was huge today," and he sat down. "Do you have the frog?" Lucy whispered to Jennifer. She was part of the plan too. "Yeah," she whispered back. "You let go of the frog on the count of three." "One, two, three - Go." Jennifer let go of the frog. The frog jumped on top of Aunt Lulu's head, onto the turkey, into the gravy, into the mashed potatoes, where it stayed. Everyone was still.

    Chapter Four - In Trouble

Everyone was still frozen. When the frog jumped out of the potatoes it landed on top of Mrs. Wow's head, from there it jumped out the window. Then Mrs. Wow and Margaret stood up and took the children into the Family Room.

"I don't think the plan worked," whispered Jack to Lilly.

     "Me neither." Responded Lily.

Then Mrs. Wow asked her sister "Margaret, who do you think was the master mind of the plan?"

"Hmmm, let me think... Bobby? No.... Michelle?.... Lucy?"

Michelle had a weird look on her face, similar to Lucy's.

    Chapter Five - The Consequence

Mrs. Wow looked at Lucy and Michelle." Michelle and Lucy you are grounded! There will be no TV, no friends over, no telephone or electronics for one month. Lucy, Your Mom and I feel you will have the same punishment. Then she turned to the rest of her kids and said, "If there are any other dirty tricks up your sleeves there will be a consequence also." Does everyone understand? All the kids responded in unison, "Yes, Mrs. Wow and yes. Mom" came from the cousins and Wow kids.

When the children came back to the table nobody spoke, it was quiet-a little too quiet. After dinner the families all went home and all the children went to bed. So, the next morning. . . .

    Chapter Six - The Punishment

The next morning Mr. And Mrs. Wow woke up the children early. Mr. And Mrs. Wow thought the kids were missing the point of Thanksgiving after the stunt they pulled last night. Mr. And Mrs. Wow shared with the family that they would be visiting a retirement home today. " What are we going to do there? " asked jack. " Like we said you need to get in the holiday spirit and you don't do that by pulling pranks!" responded Mrs. Wow. So that was that. They all got in the car and drove to Mr. Brown's Retirement Home. On the way they all practiced classic Christmas songs like Jingle Bells, Frosty The Snowman, Silent Night, and Winter Wonderland. Soon they arrived and went through the front door of Mr. Brown's Retirement Home. The place, if I must say, was very well decorated. Mrs. Wow went to the front desk to tell the secretary that they were there. The nice lady that had been working there led them to a big room with a big stage in the front. Many people were there and the kids were getting nervous. When they got on stage everyone was clapping. The Wow's sang their songs and did their dances. When it was time to leave they didn't want to go but they had to say their goodbyes anyway. When they were finally outside Lilly said,cc Mama why did we have to leave?" Mama said, " because it is getting late and people want to get to sleep." "Oh," Lilly yawned. And everyone went to sleep once they got home. So even though the Wows can be pranksters and crazy, they can also be very caring.

The End

Moral:

People can be caring and loving even if they have a lot of crazy ideas. People are like you and me. Everybody has good inside him or her.

The theme of Wow made me think and I wanted to have a family with the name Wow - and a friendly family at that!
