My work connects with the teme "Wow" because it is a piece that I composed that is very different from most of the musical compositions I write. The majority of my pieces are pop, and this is a classical styled piece inspired by what I have been learning in my AP Music Theory class this year. I used a lot of techniques I have learned and applied them to a personal composition. I wrote this piece in a matter of days which is surprising and "wowing" due to the complexity of the melody and the different components that make up the whole piece. I am proud of this selection because it shows I am capable of a variety of styles in musical compositions and it is unlike anything I have ever written before.
