At four and a half months: Christmas Mastitis

I learned a lot from Thanksgiving Weekend's bout with mastitis, but not quite enough. With the next major holiday, Christmas, came another bout of mastitis. This time around I caught the problem sooner and started expressing earlier, so it never got as bad. I also mentioned to my husband that lecithin supplements were recommended by some sources; he found a drugstore open Christmas Day and got me a bottle. If nothing else, taking the lecithin geltabs has drastically reduced my craving for eggs. I swore off the Snugli for a couple weeks, on the theory that it might be causing problems by pressing against my breasts. I did not have my martial arts class for three weeks because of instructor vacation and Teddy being sick for a week. I'm still not sure what is causing the problem. It could be stress, problems in my diet (that hopefully the lecithin is helping with), the carrier, the bra I wear for martial arts class, the class itself. Endless possibilities. I will, of course, continue to follow this.
