Would Finish

1 ounces Rye or Bourbon
.75 ounce Green Chartreuse
.75 ounce Luxardo Maraschino Originale Liqueur
Angostura bitters
Peychaud's bitters
barspoonful maple syrup, dark is better than light

What madness is this? Many drinkers will recognize this as an End of the Road or Final Ward variant. But those still have citrus in them, and this one does not. Boston Beer Works had a Woodworks on the menu, with more or less these ingredients, minus the maple syrup, and somewhat different proportions. I loved it, and was sad when it went away, so I tried a number of reproductions. This one I love. You could also spell it Wood Finish, and I think of it as an herbal, country cousin to a Vieux Carre.

I usually stir this, and serve it over a big rock with no garnish. But you do you.
