Version 2.5.1

This section is devoted to the vehicles that AVRO has created. Each of these vehicles have been checked by the President to ensure the accuracy of the design. All have been battle tested by AVRO.

Vehicle Designs

Division 30 Ice Duelling Vehicles
Ice duelling was first introduced to AVRO back in 1992 in its first regional championships. Presented here are some of the best stock vehicles used in this arena.

Division 10 Cycles
No vehicle is without its charm, especially cycles. These monsters were used as stock vehicles in the 1995 AVRO Club Championships.

Division 30 Strange Vehicles
Many vehicles have graced the AVRO garages. Few, however, are as peculiar or as deadly as these.

Design Notes

All the vehicles currently presented are stock vehicles. However, since the AVRO president is only allowed to use stock vehicles in combat, he has made sure that all are as deadly as possible.

As you probably have noticed, each vehicle is usually equipped with high amounts of armour, good personal equipment, and also designed around a particular theme: rammer, flamer, dropper, shooter or vulture.

All personnel are equipped with at least body armour, ABV, some explosive grenades, a gun that can do vehicular damage, and a hatchet (only wimps take bowie knives). The hatchet was included because it can do 1d-2 full damage to vehicles. This way, pedestrians will always be considered a threat to vehicles.

The biggest weakness in all the designs are the tires. The tires tend to be PRSB at best. While protected with wheelguards, none can withstand more than two shots from a heavy weapon. Future designs may use better tires, although at the expensive of less armour.

All drivers and gunners are 50 lbs. & 1 DP. This from the optional rules printed in ADQ 8-4, p. 37. Obviously, these personnel will not survive vaults. However, their lighter weight has allowed the vehicles to be even more heavily armoured. If you want to convert these drivers to 150 lbs. & 3 DP, then do the following:

Design Tools

Over the long years that AVRO has been in existence, I have had to create a few simplistic tools to help me in my gamemastering. Presented here are some of the tools that I have had to use in vehicle generation.

Spreadsheet Design
This is a text version of the spreadsheet format that I use in checking vehicle designs. It is very simplistic; more complicated formats require too much time. I like to use these sheets instead of SJ Games' sheets because I find their format a bit cumbersome and not as useful with a computer.

You can also download an Excel 5.0 worksheet of this design.
For Macs, there is vehicles.sit (6.6 Kb)
For PCs, there is vehicles.zip (6.4 Kb)

Vehicle Record Sheet
AVRO's vehicle record sheet have undergone a great deal of evolution. First starting out as a simple graphic with a few notes, they have grown to the monstrosity you see here. Each battle has forced the sheet to adapt to players' demands. The record sheets provided by SJ Games were deemed too limiting by AVRO standards.

Design Graphics
The design graphics are available in the Artwork section. They were inspired by Combat Showcase.
