High-Quality Rendering Using Ray Tracing and Photon Mapping

Henrik Wann Jensen and Per H. Christensen

Abstract: Detailed descriptions of the ray-tracing and photon-mapping algorithms for rendering complex scenes with indirect illumination, caustics, participating media, and subsurface scattering. The emphasis is on the practical insight necessary to use and implement these algorithms in production of high-quality images in movies, games, architecture, etc.
