I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and because of that, I decided I needed to additional and more practical education. I looked around at the various community collage programs and decided on the Industrial Controls / Robotics program at South Seattle Community Collage. It offered courses in electronics, mathematics, and physics - all very interesting, but what sparked my curiosity and imagination the most was the exposure to computer programming.

I'm a builder, I have a builders mind - what tools do I need, how do I use them, and in what sequence do I use them to create the object that fulfills the request given me? Programming, I found, was all that - and much more.

My first programming language was Ladder Logic used for Programmable Logic Controllers. It's graphic style of programming, developed for electricians who were making the transition from wiring relays to programming small computers - such as traffic light controllers. The PLC we used in class controlled a small "pick and place" pneumatic robot, because of my theater background, I couldn't help but see it as a puppet - I was hooked.

I've received training and have coded in the following languages. I have included links to some of the projects I've worked on.
