Using the Vector-2X compass
I hooked up the Vector-2X compass board from Precision Navigation, Inc., to a 68hc811e2 BOTBoard. What a hoot! The board draws almost no current, gives you degrees from north to 1 degree resolution, and measures just 1.3 by 1.5 inches. I haven't hooked it to a robot yet, so I can't vouch for how it behaves around motors. Here is the wiring diagram (7K). Here is a program in SBasic for reading the compass heading and displaying it on a terminal.
