The theme "WOW!" inspired me to compose a fast-paced, exciting work based on one of nature's most powerful and awesome forces. My composition is split into three sections. The first and third sections represent the sheer power of hurricanes, utilizing serialism and chromaticism to convey the effect of violent winds. The middle section represents the eye of the hurricane, not only using quieter dynamics to convey the calmness of the hurricane's eye, but also employing ponticello to build tension that foreshadows the return of violete winds.
