What is CNC?

    For the past seven years, I have been working to solve the mysteries of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and to bring the cost of computer controlled machines down to where the home shop can afford them. There are many secrets about CNC but it is time to expose them so that the capabilities and power of computer controlled machines are available to all. This information goes long way to simplify and share the knowledge of low cost CNC. The information will provide an overview of  " Computer Numerical Control (CNC)".
 
     To automate your shop with CNC, all you need is a computer, shareware Computer Aided Designing (CAD) software, CNC/CAM software, an electronic translator (see glossary) with drivers and a mechanism using readily available surplus stepper motors.
