AUCTION RULES AND TIPS

Registration
As you arrive, please check in at the registration table. Each family will be assigned a bid number. This bid number is your means of identification. Keep your catalog with you for the duration of the auction. Parents are responsible for bids made by children. Please discuss your family's plan with young bidders.

Bidding
The silent auction begins at 1:30 PM. Arrive early so you have plenty of time to preview items. Each item offered will have a bid form showing the minimum bid and minimum raise. To be valid, bids must comply with these minimums and be legible. You may bid by simply writing your bid number on the form beside the amount you want to bid. You may bid on any of the silent auction tables, however, it is most strategic to concentrate on the tables that will close first. The last bid entered prior to the section closing will be the winning bid, so be sure to keep circulating back to your favorite items before the time is up!

Guaranteed Purchase
If you really want a silent auction item, just write your number in the space marked "guaranteed bid" and that special item is yours for the guaranteed bid price (usually 150% of the value)! No more checking back to see if you've been outbid (it's also a great wya to support Pacifica.

Group Bidding
Don't forget to plan ahead and pool your resources on live and silent auction items. Several items (dinners, outings, vacations, and many others) are perfect for a group of people to bid on together. Just remember to designate one person as the bidder (and check-writer) for the group. If you share a purchase with others, the winning bidder is responsible for payment at check-out. Other group members pay their share to the designated bidder.

Payment
The cashier table will open about 3:00. Payment in full is required before leaving the auction. All sales are final. While every effort has been made bring you quality items, all items are sold as-is. All payments in excess of the fair market value of an item are tax-deductible as donations to Pacifica. All items must be removed the day of the auction.

Time Limits
Unless otherwise specified, use of services, gift certificates, etc. must take place within one year following the auction at a time mutually agreeable to the winner and the donor.
