I have taught at Shoreline Community College, the Seattle Community Colleges (North and Central campuses), and the University of Washington. I have also taught basic reading and writing skills at the Goodwill Community Learning Center.
I have developed my classes to emphasize the following:
Developed classroom exercises based on different learning styles, including kinesthetic and tactile
Promoted cultural, intellectual diversity through guest lecturers (see Teaching Statement)
Mentored original research projects crossing disciplines to assist students in furthering their career objectives.
Taught telecourse twice.

DEVELOPMENTAL (LIFESPAN) PSYCHOLOGY (6 quarters)
Designed course around my adaption of "Your Own Theory of Development" worksheet to emphasize critical thinking and integration of personal experience and results of research.
Guided student projects include original research involving group problem solving, application of theory, research methods, and synthesis.
Emphasized quantitative reasoning skills in subject area context through in-class activites and outside data gathering projects
Developed reading packet from multiple primary sources
PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY
Developed coordinated writing assignments that gives students an overview of perspectives and their opinion relative to them
Project assignments include analytical essays, model building, stories, interviews to develop variety of communication skills and learning styles.
Coordinated Study: THE HUMAN PERSONALITY
10 credit Coordinated Study combined credits in English and Psychology.
Students analyzed fictional characters with psychological theories
Coordinated Study: Dreams and Nightmares
10 credit Coordinated Study combines credits in English and Psychology.
Planned for Fall 1996, students will compare the visions of beauty and depictions of nigthmares in literature with their real-life counterparts. We will examine both individual and social level phenomena.
WRITING in PSYCHOLOGY (3 quarters)

Taught writing skills as they apply to the forms psychologists use
