Important cite: "10 Myths About Affirmative Action". Plous is doing important work in exposing common flaws in reasoning around AA, and he includes some data and many references.
good list of cites on Social Psychology Organized by topic (prejudice, gender, negotiations...), includes little about each cite, but does include good link to "10 Myths About Affirmative Action". Plous is doing important work in exposing common flaws in reasoning around AA, and he includes some data and many references. Many of the cites appear to be to organizations or other lists.
Sociology Software Interesting demos in hypercard. The perception one and the one on Heider are my favs.
Social Dilemma interactive simulations There is free HyperCard software for simulating tragedies of the commons or social-temporal dilemmas. One is based on a fisheries example. I have browsed, and so far it is not complex, but does provide a lot of good background about a real situation. By Craig Summers, Ph.D.

Ethical Principles for Psychologists and Code of Conduct
There is a European mirror of this document. This consists of a preamble, an introduction, six general principles and specific ethical standards. It applies to psychologists operating in a variety of contexts, not just research with human participants.
Codes of Professional Responsibility This hardcover volume contains 51 official codes of ethics issued by 45
associations in business, health, and law -- most in full text.
Good example of course assignment at the U. of Calgary, yet more good stuff (see below, etc.). Here are descriptions of web sites by students. Well written and informative. Interesting sites they point to, as well. Cites relate to research methods.
An Applied Behavior Analysis Course This guy is huge into operant conditioning, and his syllabus would be useful example of it -there's even an Applied Behavior Analysis article on how the syllabus is set up.
Morris Book I used for a telecourse Discussion group not ready yet, sales and promo stuff is. The book itself is quite good. One chapter (learning, I think) is on the web, the outline, main points, not full text. The discussion never did make it.
Another course Info includes example of review sheets for theoretical and empirical articles, not world-changing, but a good start.
Jung Society in Seattle Lots of info on local programs, background on speakers, upcoming events.
Jung Society in LA Lots of info on local programs, bookstore and research, as well as list of related sites. 4 or 5 I don't have.
(12/96: changed address).
Keirsey Temperament Sorter This is the mid-length version of the Myers-Briggs personality types, which came from Jung's work on archetypes. (A shorter version is called the Tieger Assessment of Personality Test.) They will score it for you.
Jung info This link is gone, but it was very cool. If anyone knows where it went, please let me know. Lots of stuff - not links, lots of quotes, info on 6 or so subjects.
GenRx A reference book like the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR), it has very detailed information about each drug, and seems well linked internally.
Mental Health Encyclopedia An amazing amount of information put together by a Canadian psychiatrist. There is information on disorders and medications as well as articles etc.
Book: Brain Tricks Promotional material for book Brain Tricks - an ad company guy writing about how the brain is a computer and has 2 systems: the rational cerebrum and the irrational, powerful, "caveman" limbic system.
Brain Perfusion SPECT Includes pictures of the brain with diagnoses, some pointers to what you are looking at. Cases include depression, cocaine addiction, Alzheimers. Not much text with cases. You'll need to know what transaxial, sagittal (median longitudinal plane), and coronal (the upper portion, the crown) mean.
The Whole Brain Atlas Lots of MRIs and other brain pictures, which take a little time to load. I have just begun exploring this spot. It has tours and video, I think. Sections on Alzheimers and Parkinsons.
Bardo of Death Studies An eclectic collection site for questions and answers from all cultures and backgrounds about Death & Dying and its integration with Life & Living, our purpose for being here is to be of service to those who have curiosities or comments on the subject of Death and Dying, as well as to serve as a Net Memorial for those who have gone before us into this journey called Death. It includes a survey of death and dying attitudes and expereinces , which is a good example for class project possibilities.
How long will you live? By NWern Mutual Life Insurance Co. Good example of risk factors type research applications. How does the survey and method of computing strike you? How would you do it differently? There is no button to clear answers. (I hit 81 years.)
Educational Testing Services (ETS) ETS, Pro-Ed, and the Buros Institute have a web page devoted to identifying psychological tests. I believe this site also has limtied search ability for some ERIC documents.
Emotional Intelligence Emotional Intelligence is a term coined by Daniel Glietman (sp?), the science editor for the New York Times. He says emotional maturity, delaying gratification, understanding and dealing with emotions is a more important type of intelligence than traditional intelligence tests measure. He gives evidence that suggests that EQ predicts later performance better than IQ.
At this site you can take a quiz to measure your EQ, but no discussion or resources are there.
Brief article on The Bell Curve The Bell Curve is a controversial book about race and intelligence testing that was published recently.
Psychiatry Software for PC These look very interesting, but are for PC. Let me know what you think. I hear that you can't get the handwriting program.
Sociology Software Interesting demos in hypercard. The perception one and the one on Heider are my favs.

Best example of hypertexted empirical paper
This is a great use of the internet/hypertext format. I have not read through all the material, but I am using some of it for the methods lecture. It overlaps (and refers to) specific stuff in APA style, but the actual paper part is really nice.
APA Paper Mark Plonsky has created a hypertexted example of an APA style document.
Links to other research paper, and good ethics stuff Mark Plonsky's page, good links to a couple of documents on ethics and other research paper. Also has links to minitab and some other statistical resources.
Myths Has text of interesting myths, seems to be somewhat cross-cultural.
Today in the history of psychology Today in the history of psychology (APA sponsored, by Warren Street, Central Washington, gives you interesting tidbits from the history of psychology.
Psychology of Religion page Has interesting article on questions of child abuse in "The Family" a cult/new religious movement.
Repressed memory/Loftus stuff The controversy surrounding repressed memories in general. The most explosive part of the controversy is repressed memories of sexual abuse, particularly when they are used as the primary evidence to convict fathers, uncles, etc and/or when they are believed to be implanted by therapist.
US Holocaust museum There is not a ton of stuff here yet, but it looks promising.
Educational Testing Services (ETS) ETS, Pro-Ed, and the Buros Institute have a web page devoted to identifying psychological tests. I believe this site also has limtied search ability for some ERIC documents.
Andy's Taoism Page 10/97: Not here anymore. Anyone have info?
Quite a bit of information. I think there's a link here for the entire Tao Te Ching, Stephen Mitchell's translation. I've heard good things about Stephen Mitchell.
Keirsey Temperament Sorter This is the mid-length version of the Myers-Briggs personality types, which came from Jung's work on archetypes. (A shorter version is called the Tieger Assessment of Personality Test.) They will score it for you.
Dream Analysis 10/97: URL not found. What happened to this site? Let me know if you know.
Douglas responds to your dreams, and you can read other dreams and interpretations...seems Freudian, though I've only looked at a few...and he hasn't posted the interpretation to my dream yet....
