  • This link gives a detailed retelling of the movie, as well as some background on most of the main characters. Unfortuanately it's long, has a bunch of anecdotes(sp?) from the director and producer, and has a ton of useless info on the actors. To me the useful info within was worth the read, but that's just me. :o] ~Kim Trammell~

    An Odd Bit

  • an add for a home in Rosewood now. I am not entirely sure this is THE Rosewood, but looks like. Makes you think, huh? Not giving it back to the original owners, it looks like. Be sure to look at the community profiles, as in gated community (Remember Ken Berring, Seahawks owner? this is how he made his money)

    The Diamonds

    1. The Rosewood Audio Documentary, a radio documentary of Rosewood, including James Earl Jones Unlike the movie "Rosewood", this documentary tells the actual history of Rosewood's destruction and its groundbreaking "rebirth", in the actual voices of survivors and participants

    2. list of differences between movie and a version of the truth, from audio documentary. Includes interesting discussion of importance of differences. Well thought out.

Alan Lipke wrote our Rosewood story. He's a radio producer and freelance journalist based in Tampa, Fla., who has produced Rosewood Reborn, the award-winning public radio documentary narrated by James Earl Jones. He can be reached via e-mail at alipke@interaccess.net.

The Rosewood Forum is an ongoing series of discussions and seminars on the massacre, based at the Sante Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fla. For more information, call 904-395-5407.

e-mail ppspacific@pacifica.org to get a copy of the audio documentary

    3. Discovery Channel must have done a show on Rosewood or something. Lots of information, the list of links.

    4. Gotta love Yahoo -- good starting point

    Government Resources

  • 93 page text of 1993 report prepared by profs at UF, FSU, etc for Florida State Legislature -- 400+ page appendix not included.
  • another legislative document
  • Interesting info from state of Florida
  • a bibiliography of additional (print and internet) sources on Rosewood

    General Academic Type Stuff

  • general info on lynching
  • An Empirical Account of the Decline of Lynching in the South.* Apparently this is someone's thesis.
