Century League World Series

World Series preview
Seaview ArtisansSeaview, representing the American League of the 1920s, finished in a tie for first place in the American Century League with Tri-Cities ('90s), but won the first two-games of a best-of-three playoff to advance to the championship showdown. The Artisans were led by the slugging exploits of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, who powered the club into the playoffs. Gehrig was named player of the week the final two weeks of the regular season. He and Ruth will be fighting it out for MVP; Gehrig batted .311 with 58 home runs, 148 RBI, and scored 130 runs. Ruth hit .306 and crashed 74 homers, drove in 161 and scored 151. No wonder they led the league in scoring with 835 runs. Carl Mays won 17 games and Stan Coveleski 15.
