Raspberries statistics

What went right?
Jim Bottomley had a stellar year, hitting .330 with 37 homers and 118 RBI. The Razzies were third in the league in homers with 263 and third in runs at 855.

What went wrong?
The Razzies are the most mystifying club of the Century League's second season. NCL champs in the first go-round, they stunk from the start. In the first season, they led the league in pitching and were second in scoring. With essentially the same roster this time, the hitting, while a bit off, was still third in the league in scoring, but the pitching plummeted from first to ninth. The biggest dropoff came from Wilbur Cooper, who won the NCL Cy Young award in the first season for going 19-10, 3.53. He was still the club's top pitcher, but only 11-14, 4.38. Dazzy Vance dropped from 13-13 to 9-16. Rogers Horsby fell off, too. Last season's MVP for a .312-40-125 ledger checked in at .282-35-93. That's dang nice for your second baseman, but a step back.

The Raspberries were named after a tasty dessert wine made at the Hoodsport Winery which, along with the outstanding camping opportunities (and now the Razzies) is a major tourist draw in the area.
