JW Research Journal Update

About two years ago I notified the subscribers to the JWR Journal that I would be taking a 2 year break from publishing the magazine. I thought I had put up a notice on this website, but I guess I didn't. Since it's been 2 years, it's time for an update on the status of the Journal.

The reason for the 2 year break in the first place was I was getting tired and burning out on publishing it. I was working overtime at my full time job for 1-2 years straight and didn't have as much time or energy to devote to the Journal. I was also getting burned out on researching and writing on all the "weird Watchtower stuff" in the Society's historical archives (telepathy, the ERA, etc.). It was driving me nuts.

The bottom line is things haven't changed much. I have stopped working overtime, but the "burn-out" symptoms haven't gotten better. In fact, they've gotten worse (I now believe I have a different medical condition: sleep apnea). Because of my current symptoms, writing anything at this point that sounds coherent is difficult. Right now, I have no plans to restart it, though there is no shortage of stuff to write on. I will wait until September when I have a split-night sleep test for sleep apnea done and see how treatment goes before deciding on what to do with the Journal. I'll post a notice on how the sleep-test went and then on the treatment (assuming apnea is my problem).

A page on my current health will be posted here for those who want more info.
