Mount Vernon in Miniature is the gift of the People of Washington to George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens.

A talented group of artisans, miniature collectors, and George Washington admirers spent five years reproducing with exacting detail the house and its furnishings in 1/12 scale. Every feature of the Mansion from the siding to the carved mantles, is true to Washington's original designs. Each of the Mansion's more than twenty rooms is authentically presented with copies of many of the stylish furnishings that he acquired from America, France, England, and China. The result is an accurate portrayal in miniature of Mount Vernon . It took Stan Ohman, the builder, 5 yrs. (4500 hrs.) to build the miniature. This was all donated.

Mount Vernon in Miniature is on an extended tour of museums across the nation. Among the stops are Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Richmond. Look for it in your city. After this tour it will be exhibited in Mount Vernon, VA.

The miniature is encased in glass and no flashes are allowed so it is a challenge to photograph in low light. Viewing the miniature is a captivating experience and we hope you can see this excellence in person.
