Tournament Guide - May

P. 38

North Dakota State Cup & South Dakota State Cup

Arena North Dakota University
and Battleship.

Divisions 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
Prestige Local (+2).
# Contestants 36 / division.
Length 2 days.
Entry Top 36 ranked.

These two tournaments are very similar in format. Prize money is average, prestige is local, but the treatment from both arena managements is excellent and professional (they call you by your first name, not by your identification number). The ethnic festivities and fireworks displays in both states are a must-see. Duellists can expect a 25% discount on all services one week before and after the tournaments.
Skyhawk Aeroduel Showdown

Arena Western Nebraska.
Divisions 60, 80, 100.
Prestige Regional (+3).
# Contestants 24 / division.
Length 3 days.
Entry Corporate teams,
or by invitation.

Ever since aeroduel events were sanctioned by the AADA, they have become increasingly popular. Most competitors have corporate sponsorship. Very few can afford such a sport on their own.
End of Year Blowout

Arena Pale Horse.
Divisions 30.
Prestige Regional (+2).
# Contestants 10.
Length 1 day.
Entry Special.

This is the final event of the Pale Horse ice-duelling season. The top ten competitors of the season fight it out in a no-holds-barred slugfest. Boat duellists take note: The boat season in Colorado opens next month!
