Tuesday Jan 6, 2009 is Last Day to Register!

Once again, beleagured iPod maker Apple has deigned to tease the faithful with more worthless toys and frivolous software at MacWorld San Francisco.

And once more, I am proud to announce the Netter's Dinner 2009 will be there too. It will be on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Hunan on Broadway and Sansome, the same as it always is.

If you want to come and hobknob with a bunch of Macintosh old timers in old Usenet/Arpanet/BBS fashion (technically the eating and drinking ritual is older than that, but we started in 1986 so...), register and pay right here. It's $20 for the same Hunan buffet, which has always been requested to be hot and spicy. We'll also have some vegitarian dishes for people who want to sign up in advance for them.

I have moved back to CA so I will be attending this year again. Nevertheless the regulars, including Adam Engst from TidBITs will be on hand, as well as many other aging geeks. Any suggestions for the traditional raise-your-hands Internet survey should be mailed to me.

You can register via credit card up to the 6th of January.

Cancellations need to be in by these dates too or you will be charged full price. We typically suffer from a 10% no-show rate, so a few people will probably be able to show up and pay at the door, but don't count on it.

Note that the venue is up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator or handicapped access. Please plan accordingly.

The Kagi Registration Web Page has online forms where you can do everything you need to sign up. Remember, there's only room for 300 people but it gets to be a zoo long before that.

The list of people who have RSVPed is here.

Ilene Hoffman has put the Hess Memorial Party List on line but sometimes it's slow getting going.

Advertising: If you would like to donate T shirts, toy phasers, plastic communicators or anything else you can think of, we'd love to accept it. Netters' love free stuff and we even like corporate logos on it. Plus, stuff reminds us about the event years later. Remember when Intercon made us T shirts back in 1997? Google gave us GoogleEarth notepads in 2006 and numerous people have donated a couple of product offerings for our survey/"contest".
