Build electronics that can be fixed so they don't go to landfills or recyclers in poor countries. It would mean going back to the simpler and larger systems of the '80s and '90s but would mean local jobs and less waste.
There is energy in the air, simple RF and static can be gathered fairly easily. It isn't a lot, but with enough systems it could make a dent in electrical energy use.
Now they try to get as much oil/gas out of a well as they can. As oil and gas are made from organic material, maybe they could be made usable again by pumping organic material down in the well and letting the heat and pressure convert it to oil/gas. I might even be possible to recycle plastics as they would break down in the heat and pressure.
