• Committed to understanding complex global ecosystems, Midori uses I.W.G. resources to repair obvious faults in the environmental web while hoping it's not too late to restore the planet's natural balance.

• Rapid population growth, ozone layer depletion, desertification, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and global warming have substantially altered the global environment.  We only roughly understand how our own global urbanization causes climate change, which in turn, along with deforestation, contributes to desertification.  Changing just 100 square kilometers of urban development or deforestation can change local rainfall patterns and trigger other climate disruptions.  This complex network of interactions requires us to increase our level of understanding to save our own biosphere.

• Septimius discovered Midori living alone in the Black Forest, an oddity in the natural world.  He immediately recognized her I.W.G. traits and brought Midori to the group.  She easily settled into the insurgency, becoming vital to command and control.  Midori has an excellent grasp of tactics and she can pinpoint single small actions that trigger favorable chain reactions.  She applies her keen sense of cause and effect by advising Titus on I.W.G. strategy.  In personal combat, she lets the environment deal with bad humans, leading them on chases that end at sheer cliffs or sucking bogs.  Because she has no native habitat on Earth, Midori has been studying the global ecosystem, which she hopes to repair.  Her favorite missions are environmental clean-up tasks, which includes tracking and punishing the perpetrators.  Midori likes spending time with Ocho and Moly; she suspects a hidden connection to Ocho and Moly is teaching her about oceanic ecosystems.

• As for the white skull emblazoned across her chest, Midori calls it her birthmark.  She is careful to remind others it is not the Blood Code .... at least, not as far as she knows.
