Ready to start
covering. The Grille material is a jet black stretchy spandex-like material
with random silver sparkle highlights. It is extremely thin and acoustically
transparent. I found it, after some searching, at a local fabric shop for
$1.50 a yard. Much better than
$15 a yard for labeled 'speaker cloth'. |

The material is stretched and pinned to the frame edge with thumbtacks. The material has a geometric cross-hatch to the weave, and this was carefully aligned with the edges of the frame. |

Here, the frame has been flipped over. The material has been trimmed, folded over and glued to the frame with super glue. Great care was excersized to keep the tension on the fabric constant, and the pattern aligned. The thumbtacks are then removed. |
