Interior Work
Strip out and floor prep

The pile of rags is the old interior. The seats are not too bad; I'll have them stripped by an upholstery shop, recondition the frames and then have them redone. I made plenty of use of the Dremel, grinding off rusted out screw heads. The interior stripped to the bone. The floor and rockers are in good shape; most of the red is carpet backing, not rust.
Fitting the door edge panels. These are pieces of the vinyl upholstery without foam backing and are contact glued later on.
The floor and deck area is sprayed with a thick coat of spray-on undercoat, after sealing all the holes in the floor.
The rear deck area. The undercoat layer is allowed to dry for several days before proceeding.
1/8" sound deadener panels with adhesive backing are heated and formed to the contours of the panels. These are applied to all inside surfaces of the compartment. They make a huge difference in the sound level inside the car.
