This is the new
Bimini Frame configuration. The original mounting points on the side window
rails are reused. Four new mounts are installed for the main bow and support
struts.
A new Main Bow was fabricated using the TUBING ROLLER I built. The original main bow is used for the front bow. The original front bow is used for the mid bow. These were trimmed and tweaked to fit the new application. |

The retraction sequence begins. The front bow support struts detach from the front rail mounts and fold back against the front bow. |

The front bow detaches from the rear rail mounts and is moved back to the mounting points on the main bow. |

The front and mid bows now pivot back on their mounts in the usual way. |

The Bimini Frame in the Stowed/Raised position. The raised position sets the main bow height for proper positioning of the bimini canvas for attachment to the Radar Arch. |

The Bimini Frame now retracts inside the Radar Arch. This is accomplished by using telescoping rear support struts. These have pull-pins and holes drilled which allow the struts to position the Bimini Frame in either position and lock it in place. The Support Struts have internal springs, which support the weight of the Bimini Frame, canvas and boot cover. |
