This page includes materials taught in my Ogam class during the summer of 2003 in Seattle. It consists of some of the basic notes, and the annotated reading lists, though it does not present the course outline. Please seek my permission if you wish to reprint or link to this material.

This is a very different approach than anything you may have seen before. The class discussed the tree ogam briefly, but it was not the focus of the classes. Instead, we studied the meanings of the names, which are similar in nature to those of Norse Runes.

Topics covered included ogam letter names, the use of ogam in magic, healing, and ritual, use of ogam with the three internal cauldrons, and more. We made our own ogam fiodh, and learned how to make ogam glyphs or bindrunes for many purposes. I expect to be offering this class series again in the autumn of 2004 if interest is expressed. A great deal was covered in the class that isn't discussed here.
