This was a fortress for the Incas located on top of a hill right outside of Cusco. Here is a view of Cusco from Sacsayhuman. As you can see, all roofs in Cusco are made of red clay tile, manufactured locally.
The Inca cut stones are arranged in a zigzag pattern for defensive purposes. Only the base of the fort remains, as the top was dismantled by the Spanish after the conquest.
