1988 Formula Fiero

Well, I could not resist and went ahead and put a Shelby type stripe on it today! kinda dresses it up nicely don't ya think? but most importantly this finishes up the duct area so that I can get to work on installing an engine! and of course this clears the room to get the T4 back in there for the lift engine swap and to refit the canopy back on.

I still have to build the instrument panel, it will be the same width as the seat back or flat area on the front and back of the duct.,

Next will be getting the old tractor engine running and carving a prop/fan for her. This will make task for thew winter months ahead!

Marks maiden voyage!

The test flight pretty much went without a hitch!. A small carb problem gave us a little excitement but other than that she performed very very well indeed! The crafts hull is foam and plywood composite construction based on the UH-16S and has been stretched to 18 feet on the flat deck.  It sports a E-81 Subaru four cylinder engine spinning a 60 inch thrust prop (carved by Mark) with a variator belt drive system powering the big 34 inch  four blade lift fan (carved by mark) in the front of the craft. The super wide cockpit superstructure and pointy nose section is from the mind of Mark.
