Dr. Oliver was born into an orthodontic family while his father was on "loan" to the British RAF in Canada. He graduated from McGill University and the University of Pennsylvania to become the world's youngest orthodontist at age 23, finishing consistently first or second in his Dental and Orthodontic classes with numerous awards.
Dr. Oliver spent the next six years as an Orthodontist for the USAF mainly in Germany. In his spare time, he studied removable appliances and orthonathic surgery. He also was instrumental in helping German Orthodontists learn American fixed techniques.
The following fifteen years, Dr. Oliver opened three private practices and taught European orthodontic techniques to the dentists in Rhode Island and Connecticut. He has operated offices as large as ten chairs and seventeen employees but prefers the smaller, personable, hand-on practice. His belief is that by performing all the major procedures himself, the patients spend far fewer months in treatment with less decay potential.
Orthodontics, like the most health fields, takes about 20 years to see which treatments justify the long term results. It is a great opportunity to be able to learn from a father and uncle's practices as well as one's own experience in mastering the art.
Dr. Oliver was very happy to come "home" to the Pacific Northwest to be able to take care of his elderly parents and bring his worldwide orthodontic experience to the area and people he loves the most.
