The old legend here referred to is the Bee-In-Child's-Ear motif
that occurs in many human oral records. The legends claim that
discourse between newly-winged bees and young human children was
possible, and even quite common at one time. Obviously, this is
scoffed at by modern Bees, who note the terror of children at
their approach.

The strangest of the legends even claims that zzz'Omma, the Highest
of the Hive, used the so-called 'wisdom of the ear' to make many
of her decisions. The image of zzz'Omma climbing into the ear of
a human child to ask her opinion is quite ludicrous.

The power of the Bee-In-Ear motif has persisted despite all attempts
to stamp it out, including the Great Surplussing of Human Records of
14268, in which all human records were converted to scent storage,
then translated to more Apiculturally correct versions of the truth.

No less than seven rebellions have used the Bee-In-Child's-Ear
motif as their rallying symbol.
