SEATTLE, WASHINGTON: KinterSylvania's Sister City As the City of Seattle has so many close ties to KinterSylvania, it seemed only natural to include a page of Seattle Links, so bees can explore the city that has brought so much social turbulence to Hive Home. It was through the combined efforts of Seattle aerospace, electronics and software engineers laboring at Local Author Stories, that a chance misdirection in antenna and transmitter design produced the PBounce(Parsec-Bouncing) transmitter, a technology that first made contact with KinterSylvania Hive Home in the fall of 1988. As the high-frequency scent transmissions of the Bees resonated perfectly with the PBounce carrier waves, hives became natural transmitters and receivers for PBounce communication. Since 1988, an increasingly lively dialogue has existed between Seattle's university and commercial laboratories and the KinterSylvanian Queendom, contact restricted at first to Bee upper castes. Then, in the summer of 1993, a tiny band of Bee researchers produced a small hive design that could link directly onto Internet PBounce transmissions from Seattle. This Bee Scent Browsing hive was perfected, and limited on-line Internet communications were begun, initially with the benign neglect of zzzzz'Drom, Queen Bee of KinterSylvania. When the smaller hives began eating into the hive market, once dominated by zzzzz'Drom, she was forced to include Browser resonances in the walls of her own hive designs. Though the Queen vows to someday recapture the lost hive market, her predicted 'Information Potpourri' has already come to KinterSylvania, and looks as though it will bear the seal of many bees, not just the Queen's.
