The
Unlimited Lights. Bringing thunder back to hydroplane racing.
These
high speed pieces of art are 20 to 25 feet long and run a engine than
ranges from 427 cubic inches up to 511 cubic inches. There is even a
fire breathing blown alcohol 468 cubic inch engine that rumbles though
the valley's and to the mountain tops. That my friend is the thunder
that the unlimiteds have been missing for a decade.
These
boats run on the big body's of water that their big brothers run on
as well as tight little courses that are so close to shore the spectators
can feel the mist from their roostertails. These boats hit speeds of
165 mph and can fly around a closed 1 2/3rd mile course at nearly 120
mph.
Imagine...
8 of these boats lined up as they cross the starting line hitting 160
mph, drivers throwing their boats into the 1st turn, hooking up that
skid fin and throwing a wall of water 5 stories into the air. The rumble.
The roar of the engines making it impossible to talk to a person standing
next to you on the shore.
To
me, that is the definition of POWER!
