Dial-up Basics
|
| |
|
1. What is a dial-up connection?
A dial-up connection is the traditional method of accessing the Internet. With a dial-up
connection, your computer's modem dials our modems and establishes and maintains your connection
until you disconnect. Dial-up connections are an economical way to access the Internet without
making any changes to your existing phone line.

2. Does Seanet offer unlimited access?
While many other companies that provide Internet access have oversold connectivity in order
to provide the lure of "unlimited" access, they've actually just delivered busy signals and
congested, saturated networks. Such providers have tried to create the image of "unlimited"
access without ever actually being able to deliver.
Seanet's focus is on providing connectivity for our customers when they want to be on-line.
We have created a high perfomance environment where each and every customer gets a fully usable
and enjoyable account. Seanet does not need to encourage our customers to use off-hours, nor
have we needed to require customers to disconnect every 2 hours. Seanet's focus on a no-busy-signal
policy and maintaining quality connections avoids misleading hype.

to achieve true 56k connectivity is dependent upon a
number of factors, such as the quality of phone lines in your area.
