Introduction to MaxSpeed

 

1. What is MaxSpeed?

MaxSpeed is a Dial Up Accelerator package designed to help decrease the amount of time you spend downloading web pages and E-mail. MaxSpeed uses the SlipStream software as a Dial Up Accelerator, Pop-Up Blocker and Banner Ad Blocker to help increase the speed of Dial Up, ISDN and some DSL connections.

2. What is a Dial Up Accelerator?

A Dial Up Accelerator accelerates certain text and graphics on web pages. You will notice a significantly faster experience when you visit web sites, send and receive your e-mail, and perform many other Web-based activities. You will not currently accelerate file downloads such as music files, or streaming video or audio media.

4. Can I try it out first?

You have an opportunity to try out MaxSpeed RISK FREE for 14 days to evaluate how useful it can be to you. If you decide you don't want to use it afterwards just contact our billing department and we will give you a refund.

Installation & Usage Questions

 

1. What hardware does my computer need for MaxSpeed?

The recommended system requirements are a Pentium PC 200MHz with 64MB of RAM and at least 5 MB of hard-disk space.

On a Macintosh computer a PowerPC G3 processor with OS X 10.2 (or later) with 333Mhz and 128MB RAM and 6MB of hard drive space is the minimum requirement.

3. How do I install MaxSpeed?

1. Download

  • Login to the MaxSpeed site with your full username@seanet.com and password to download the MaxSpeed Web Accelerator installer.
  • Download the installer to your desktop.
  • Once the download has completed, proceed to Step 2.

2. Install.

  • On your Desktop you will find an icon called "MaxSpeed".
  • Double-click the icon to start the installation procedure.
  • Once the installation finishes you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter the username and password provided to you by your Seanet. Besure to use your full username@seanet.com.
  • To avoid having to keep entering your username and password each time, ensure that the "Save Password" box is checked.

4. How do I start MaxSpeed?

MaxSpeed Web Accelerator is automatically started when your computer starts up. Acceleration will begin as soon as a supported browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape) or a supported email client (such as Microsoft Outlook or Eudora) is started. On some Windows platforms a bubble icon will appear when the MaxSpeed Service has been established. On all other Windows platforms, you can verify that MaxSpeed Service has been established by hovering over the MaxSpeed tray icon (you should see a "MaxSpeed Enabled..." message).

4. How do I use MaxSpeed?

Browse the web or download email as you normally would. Your web access or email access will be automatically accelerated by MaxSpeed. If you desire to stop the application, select Stop MaxSpeed from the pop-up menu, or if you desire to exit the application completely, click Exit from the pop-up menu.

2. How do I order MaxSpeed access from Seanet?

You can order MaxSpeed by logging in to our MaxSpeed site with your username and password and downloading the software. Or contact our customer service team. They can be reached at (206) 343-7828 or (800) 973-2638 Monday-Friday 8am-9pm or Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm. You will still need to download the software and have your username and password available to use the service.

3. What happens after I place my order?

Download and install the software using the easy walk-through instructions. Enter your username and password to login and you're all set.

4. How will I be billed?

Seanet offers you the choice of being billed via credit card, e-mail invoice, or paper invoice, on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis. If you choose paper invoice billing, there is a charge of $2 per invoice. Bills are due when received.
