| Microsoft Outlook 2000
Outlook features powerful mail filtering capabilities that can be used to filter the spam that gets through Seanet's filters.
With this, you can filter your email not only by Sender (usually ineffective for spammers) but for Subject and/or specific
text in the message body as well.
One of the most effective message rules you can set up is to move any mail that is not specifically addressed to you to
a Junk Mail folder for later review. Once you've established a pattern for a particular spam message, you can set up additional
rules that either delete it automatically or move it to the Junk Mail folder you set up by following these instructions.
(Note: When first installed, Outlook 2000 offers a choice between Internet or Corporate setup. The main difference is that
the former has an Accounts menu, while the latter uses Services. There are technical differences as well, but we usually
recommend that you choose the Internet Mail configuration.)
The following will guide you in configuring the email filters in Outlook 2000.
1. Go to Tools, Rules Wizard

2. Select New
3. Select "Check messages when they arrive" and select Next >

4. Select the conditions under which you want your rule to apply, for example, "with specific words
in the body."

5. Click on "specific words in the Rule description window, and select Next >
6. Type the word or phrase that Outlook will use in filtering your mail for spam, and select Add.

7. Select an action you want Outlook to perform when a message arrives which contains the text you specified.

At this point, you may select Finish.
Note: Next > will take you to an additional set of criteria by which you may make your rule more
elaborate and specific.
Once saved, you can edit your Rule by going to Step 2 above, and selecting Modify
