Windows Live 2008

Email Set-Up

This brief walk-through will show you how to setup/configure your Seanet account in Windows Live Mail 2008.

  1. Open mail then click on the “Add an email account” link. If you are just reconfiguring an existing account then right-click on your account and then click on “Properties”. After that skip to step 4 to continue reconfiguring your account.
  2. Fill out the information. Incoming mail server is pop.seanet.com. The login ID is your Seanet email address. The outgoing server is mx.seanet.com then change the outgoing mail port 587. After that, check the box “My outgoing server requires authentication" then click on the “Next” button.
  3. Click the Finish button.
  4. Select your newly created account and then click on “Properties”.
  5. Click on the “Servers” tab.
  6. Check the box that says “My server requires authentication” then click on “Settings”.
  7. Leave the “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” radial button selected then click “OK”.
  8. Click on the “Advanced” tab.
  9. Change outgoing port to 587. Leave incoming port as 110. If you plan on using this email account on more than one machine, follow the next step. If not, click “Apply” then “OK” and skip the next step.
  10. Check the box that says “Leave a copy of messages on server”, then click “Apply” followed by “OK”.

You should now be able to send and receive email using your Seanet account with Windows Live Mail 2008.
