Microsoft Outlook 98

Email Set-Up

  1. Open Outlook then click on the tools menu. Once in the menu, click on Services.

  2. Select Internet Email from the dialog box then click on the Properties button.

  3. Fill out your information starting with your Mail Account. This is just an identifier for this account; type Seanet in the box. Then move on to the Name field. This is the name people will see when you email them. Leave Organization blank. Type your Seanet email in the email address field. Type your Seanet email in the reply address field. After you have all of your information filled out, click on the Servers tab.

  4. Type mx.seanet.com into the Outgoing mail field. Type pop.seanet.com into the Incoming mail field. Select the radial button Log on using and type your Seanet email address in the Account name field followed by your password in the Password field. Place a checkmark next to My server requires authentication then click on the Settings button.

  5. Select the radio button Use same settings as my Incoming mail server then click the OK button.

  6. Click the Advanced tab.

  7. Change the Outgoing mail port to 587 and leave the Incoming mail port as 110. Click the OK button. Then click the OK button in the Services window to return to the main Outlook ’98 window.

    Note: If you are using this account on more than one device or machine, use step 8 listed below.

  8. If you intend on using your Seanet email account on more than one computer or device, select the checkbox next to Leave a copy of messages on server then click the OK button. Click the OK button in the Services window to return to the main Outlook ’98 window.

You should now be able to send and receive email using your Seanet account with Outlook 98.
